What are the Types of Herpes, and Is There a Cure?
There are two types of Herpes namely HSV-1 and HSV-2. But Herpes type 1 is the most common among people and is known as cold sores or sometimes even fever blisters. This is a virus which is very contagious among people and can be transmitted mainly by kissing or sexual contact. The virus is very less evident during the initial stages and will not be noticed by the affected. This is the major reason for it to spread to a great extent.
It is said that almost up to 85% of Americans are affected by this virus but they don’t realize it until an outburst. Unfortunately there is no complete cure for the same yet, but there are medicines that can prevent the virus to spread more into the body and also to prevent from spreading to other people.
The virus shows itself in different people in different ways. Some may experience an outbreak periodically and others may not have an outbreak at all. The virus is of a latent nature and is not always active in your body. This is the reason why medicines cannot detect them and eliminate them completely.

• Acyclovir Zovirax: They slow the outburst time. The medication is good for genital Herpes, cold sores and chicken pox.
• Valtrex: Comes in a tablet form and is taken twice a day for 5 days or as directed by the doctor.
• Acyclovir: Though not a complete solution, but it decreases the pain and itching in your sores.
Awareness to this infection is the most important of all for people to prevent it. As they rightly say that prevention is better than cure.
