Cures for Herpes
Herpes is a contagious infection among people caused by a virus named herpes simplex. There are two types of this infection, and they are oral herpes or cold sores and genital herpes. This infection is spread among people mainly by kissing or sexual body contact. This virus cannot survive long on a non- living surface, and it is most likely that a person may get it from public toilet seat, pool side, bath tubs etc. Even if there are no visible symptoms during the first stage, the virus can still spread and one may not realize it.
Though there are treatments for Herpes from transmitting and spreading in the body, but there is no complete cure for this infection. Researchers are now trying their best to find a complete solution for this.
The reason as to why this infection cannot be completely cured is because the virus hides in our nervous system between all the outbreaks in our body. When this infection is latent, it is impossible for drugs to detect the virus in our body and eliminate it. It is only when the infection is active in the body, that some of this virus wakes up to spread the infection. But as long as the virus is latent, medicines cannot do their job.
Acyclovir is one of the drugs which scientists have come to a conclusion with for the treatment of Herpes. This is also not a complete cure, but scientists believe that this will help the virus to come out of the nervous system and become visible to drug such as Acyclovir which can completely remove the virus.
This virus during the initial stages is not very visible, and people generally do not give it much attention. This is one of the major causes for it to spread to a great extent. Awareness of such a virus is very important for people to take precautions.
